That book has been on my to-read list for years. Definitely going to move it up in the que. And my husband often says, “I just think of the whole life of the thing,” whenever we’re trying to decide whether to buy some new item or tchotchke. Imagining our kids holding it in their hands when we’re old or dead, thinking of it ending up in some pile, thinking of all the piles we’ve made. That slug of grief. Oof. ❤️
