Halloween is officially over. 💔 I’m still sorting through the heaps of decorations and party remnants from this year’s holiday, and feeling a bit melancholy that the best and busiest time of year has passed. I want to recap this year’s Halloween party like I did last year, but I have a time-sensitive offering I need to mention first.
We’re moving into full holiday mode, with all the trappings of the season—food, gifts, gatherings, and (one of my favorite parts) holiday cards.
For the past several years, I’ve drawn our cards myself. My kids don’t love standing for family photos, so drawing them has made my holiday card season so much easier (and cheaper). I send out their school photos to their grandparents, but that about covers our official family photo-taking for the year.
This year, I thought I’d open up a small number of commissions for holiday cards, in case you (like me) want to send something festive and unique for the holidays.
Here’s how it works: you send me photos of people you want to include in your card (this can be you, your partner, your kids, your pets, your roommates, whoever) and I draw them into this festive scene of Krampus carting off his naughties:
You can purchase your very own holiday card commission for $44 in the shop here. These are digital files, so you’ll be able to print as many as you like. This listing includes up to three people/pets/characters of your choice. If you want me to include more, you can pay an additional $10 per head. You can find this as an add-on in the shop.
You’ll also get a blank side, so you can include your own text and/or photo on the card as well. You can format this yourself before you print, or you can have me format it for an additional $6. Either way is fine!
The back side will look something like this:
I’ll close commissions on November 13th (one week from today) or when the slots sell out, whichever comes first. I’ll cap commissions at around 10. I’ve opened these up to my Substack subscribers first, and tomorrow I’ll open them up to my Instagram followers.
Here’s another holiday shopping reminder: I also take requests for prints in my shop! If you want a print of any of my comics—past or present—you can request one here. This is a great gift option for the Haunted Librarian fan in your life. You can request different sizes, and they’re professionally printed by the same company that prints my archival-quality fine art prints.
They’re good, is what I’m saying.
Thanks for being here, my friends, and for supporting my work in whatever way you’re able. I’m trying to make the work I do more sustainable for myself and my family, so I hope you’ll bear with me here as I try out new offerings.
There’s more coming your way as the season ramps up, so be sure to watch your Inboxes.
Thanks so much for being here.
All my love,
❤️🔥Becca Lee, Haunted Librarian❤️🔥
Omg brilliant. Saving this FOREVER.
