Day 7 of being real dang sick is going great.
A lot of folks have messaged me this week about also being sick. We all seem to have the same symptoms—fever, headache, cough, aches—but about half of you have told me that you tested negative for COVID, and half of you have tested positive.
I don’t know what’s going around—if it’s a new, harder-to-detect strain of COVID or if it’s something completely different, I just know that this is the sickest I’ve been in years.
Though I am improving! It’s just been such a week.
Since so many of you are sick, too, I thought I’d share a throat coat remedy that my dear friend (and fellow beekeeper) Amy dropped off on my porch last year during the first COVID Christmas season. I added cinnamon to the mix, and now I keep a jar of it in the fridge all year round. It’s good for sore throats, runny noses, and yucky tums, in my experience.
It doesn’t get rid of symptoms—I’ve relied heavily on a corticosteroid nasal spray to clear up my sinuses (recommended by my doctor). But for the sore throat, it feels very soothing. I know not everyone is a tea drinker, so maybe this tonic will be a little more palatable to those of you who need something besides the hot leaf juice.
So here it is, my homemade throat coat remedy:
Love u guys. And a very merry get well soon to us all,
